ATC-JUNGS IN DEUTSCHLAND

Der Abschied von unseren drei Abenteurern in Windhoek war ein Ereignis. Um die 60 Verwandten reisten zum Teil 600km zum Flughafen an um ihre Jungs ein letztes Mal zu sehen. Für viele ein Abschied ins Ungewisse. Zum ersten Mal verließen Kandundu, Venomambo und Venomasa ihr Heimatland. Den Flug hatten sie gut überstanden als sie am Sonntagmorgen in Frankfurt ankamen.

Bar practical

The Well ness lodge “GocheGanas” is currently hosting two of our students. Rebecca Tjejamba and Ndeitaneka Handongo are having their “Bar Practical”. Here they learn how to cater and serve, communicate with the client and to comply with the “world of wishes”.

It is a big challenge.

As from this month on the support of the Federal Republic of Germany is completed. Overall  238.000 Euros were donated for different project and to start off here at the ATCK, in this time and place it is once again a great oppertunity to say thank you to all the persons involved.

Bulletin from the household

These days the creativity of the students is demanded here at the Agricultural Training Centre. Mareike Frowerk and Brigitte Looser bring much more to the Household Management Course than only cooking, sewing, children and elderly care, gardening and small stock management. Field survey @ the ATCK

In the past week the ATCK once again had visitors. 21 scholars and 3 persons in charge from the Waldorf School in Windhoek used the premesis, to practice and experience the field survey live.

The next certificate...

Two days of the next term has passed and our students have received a further certificate for the participation of a first aid course. The Johanniter Relief Organization was kindly enough to train our fellow students. Everyone gave a great feedback and got good and successful marks!

That was a very satisfying start. The following 21 months has begun and the rest of the week it is environmental education and technology.

The next step! A-Course starts with their first internship next week!

Now it’s going to be exciting for the A-Course. After a week holidays everybody will go on a farm somewhere in Namibia for the duration of 3 weeks. Some will work on a cattle-farm, some are going to help on a lodge and some will be on a hunting-farm or in a vegetable garden. The students are going to make some different experiences.

It's done!

Yes, they did it! The B-Course, which began it’s training in February – finished the 3-months introductory course with a practical and a theoretical exam last week. The best 11 students out of 21 are allowed to continue with the training.

5 Agricultural-students and 6 Household-students got their certificate with the allowance to continue on Friday. Most of the students passed the Exams with satisfiying results.... read more

Cooperation with GTZ will be continued!

Since Thursday it’s fixed!: The Cooperation with the Gesellschaft für technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ) will be continued. The GTZ saves the ATCK the whole practical part of the training for 2010.

There will also be a workshop with the GTZ, the ATCK and the Ministry of education in June. There, the students of the ATC get the possibility to represent their work in front of important politics of the Namibian Governance.

Exams in April

Time is running! Already at the end of this month the exams will happen at the ATCK. On two days the students knowledge will be tested in a theoretical and a practical part of the Examinations. Two days later the centre will decide who is allowed to stay.
